On April 20, the Annual Meeting of EU-Japan Business Round Table was held in Tokyo and State Minister Muto attended Joint Session of authorities and industries.
  1. From the Government of Japan Mr. Tsuneo Kitamura, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, from the Industries, Co-Chairman Kazuo Tsukuda, (Senior Executive Adviser of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Co-Chairman Fabrice Brégier, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Airbus, and the high levels of both Japan and the EU industries, from the EU government Mr. Jonathan Hatwell, Representative of the Head of Delegation, Delegation of the European Union to Japan, and Mr. Antti Ilmari Peltomäki, Deputy Director-General, Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, European Commission attended the Joint Session.
  2. At the joint session, the outline of the Joint Recommendations adopted at the Annual Meeting was briefly explained and the expectation of the early conclusion of the Japan-EU EPA negotiations was expressed. State Minister Muto stated that the Government of Japan would like to continuously work together with the industries to strengthen Japan-EU economic relationship and promote sustainable growth of Japan-EU industries through including such as Japan-EU EPA.
