Fifth Chief Negotiators' Meeting on the Future Economic Partnership between Japan and the United Kingdom

- On July 22, the fifth chief negotiators’ meeting on the future economic partnership between Japan and the UK was held as a video conference.
- This meeting was attended by, on the Japanese side, Mr. MATSUURA Hiroshi, Deputy Director-General, Economic Affairs Bureau of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ambassador, the Chief Negotiator), and other representatives and on the UK side, Mr. Graham Zebedee, Director for Continuity Negotiations and Development and other representatives.
- At the meeting, the two sides took stock of the progress of the negotiations and discussed various negotiating areas to make further progress towards the early conclusion of negotiations. The two chief negotiators confirmed to further accelerate negotiations on individual areas with a view to quickly establishing this partnership.
