Japan-Mexico Summit Telephone Talk

On January 2018, commencing at 11:30 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, held a telephone talk with H.E. Enrique PEÑA NIETO, President of the United Mexican States. The overview of the telephone talk is as follows.

1. At the outset, Prime Minister Abe extended his gratitude for the cooperation of President PEÑA NIETO to achieve an agreement in principle of the TPP last November.

2. In addition, both leaders exchanged their views on the TPP and confirmed that they would continue to cooperate toward the early signing and entry into force of this agreement, taking the opportunity of the visit of Japanese TPP Minister Toshimitsu Motegi to Mexico from January 8.
