G20 (Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy)
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ms. Toshiko Abe's attendance at the B20 Tokyo Summit Welcome Reception


On March 14th, Ms. Toshiko Abe, State Minister for Foreign Affairs attended the B20 (Business20) Tokyo Summit Welcome Reception.
In her opening remarks, State Minister Abe expressed that the B20 has played an important role in supporting the G20 in delivering a robust message towards achieving global economic growth. Upon mentioning that Japan seeks to introduce innovation as one of the themes at the G20 Osaka Summit, State Minister Abe pointed out that the business community is a provider of global solutions to global issues such as climate change and marine plastic litter and expressed her high hopes for the upcoming discussions at the B20 Tokyo Summit.
Further, State Minister Abe mentioned the G20's efforts for advancing women's economic empowerment and expressed Japan's determination as the G20 presidency to lead discussions towards realizing a free and open, inclusive and sustainable society where all individuals are actively engaged and able to fulfill their potentials.
