  1. The eighth Japan-Israel Joint Committee Meeting on Cooperation in Science and Technology was convened on February 15 in Tokyo.
  2. The Joint Committee Meeting was co-chaired by H. E. Mr. Takeshi Nakane, Ambassador for Science and Technology Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Dr. Hagit Schwimmer, Deputy Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Israel and Mr. Omer Caspi, Director of Division for Asia and the Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. Attendees included a range of representatives from both of the Japanese and Israeli governments and funding and research agencies.
  3. During the Meeting, both sides shared and exchanged views on the current situation of bilateral cooperation in science and technology, policies on science technology and innovation of the two countries, cooperation in the field of agriculture, joint researches, academic exchange and so on.
