Ms. KAJI Misako, Ambassador for Science and Technology Cooperation, participated in the 6th STS forum European Workshop


On May 24, Ms. KAJI Misako, Ambassador for Science and Technology Cooperation, attended the 6th STS forum European Workshop held in the European Parliament in Brussels.
Ambassador KAJI made short remarks at the closing session, stressing the increasing importance of science and technology diplomacy in tackling global issues particularly under the current geopolitical challenges. She also touched upon the importance of promoting open science and fair and healthy international cooperation in research activities based on the communiqués of the G7 Sendai Science and Technology Ministerial Meeting and the G7 Hiroshima Summit, and expressed her hopes that Japan, the EU and its member states would further deepen cooperation and exchange as partners with shared values.

- Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum European Workshop is co-organized by the STS Forum, a non-profit organization, the Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA) of the European Parliament, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The first meeting was held in Brussels in May 2016 as the Political, Industry and Academic Leaders' High-Level Meeting. Participants from Japan and the European region, including the European Parliament, the European Commission, academia, and industry, engage in a wide range of discussions related to science and technology.
