On September 16, Mr. AOKI Kazuhiko, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary received a courtesy call by Ms. TOMITA Ikuko, the Vice Chairman of the Overseas Japanese Press Association and representatives of Japanese-language newspapers and broadcasting companies overseas. The overview is as follows:

  1. Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary AOKI offered his congratulations on the holding of the 52nd Convention of the Overseas Japanese Press Association. He also stated that Japanese-language newspapers and broadcasting companies serve as valuable media for obtaining information about Japan overseas, noted that they are helpful tools for both Nikkei (Japanese immigrants and descendants) and Japanese nationals abroad, and expressed his gratitude for the activities of the Overseas Japanese Press Association. In addition, he expressed his expectation that they will continue to disseminate appealing information about Japan to overseas audiences.
  2. In response, Vice Chairman TOMITA expressed her gratitude for the cooperation extended by the Government of Japan for overseas Japanese-language newspapers and broadcasting to date, and participants provided their views on future cooperation.
