Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary NAKANISHI in discussion

On October 6, Mr. NAKANISHI Yusuke, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from Mr. MORI Mikio, Chairman of the Overseas Japanese Press Association, consisting of representatives of Japanese-language newspapers and broadcasters overseas.

  1. At the outset, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary NAKANISHI offered his congratulations on the holding of the 53rd Convention of the Overseas Japanese Press Association. He also stated that Japanese-language newspapers and broadcasting serve as valuable media for disseminating information about Japan and its appeal overseas, and noted that they are also a highly useful source of information for Japanese nationals living abroad. On this basis, he expressed his gratitude for the activities of the Overseas Japanese Press Association. He further expressed his expectation that the appeal of Japan and accurate information about Japan will continue to be conveyed to overseas audiences.
  2. In response, Chairman MORI expressed his gratitude for the cooperation extended by the Government of Japan for overseas Japanese-language newspapers and broadcasters to date.
  3. The participants introduced various initiatives and activities undertaken to date and provided updates on their current efforts. They also exchanged views with Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary NAKANISHI on how they could further cooperate with the Government going forward.
