(1) Visit to the Republic of Korea

Minister Gemba: I will visit the Republic of Korea from October 6 to 7 if all situations including the schedule of the Diet permit. During my stay in the Republic of Korea, I will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kim Sung-Hwan. Also, we are proceeding with coordination to set up a courtesy call on President Lee Myung-bak. This will be my first visit as Minister for Foreign Affairs to the Republic of Korea, which is the most important neighboring country to Japan, and I would like to conduct a frank exchange of views.
