- The Final United Nations Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty will be held from March 18 to 28 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
- This Conference will be attended by a delegation from the Government of Japan, composed of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries and agencies. The delegation will be headed by H.E. Mr. Mari AMANO, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Mission of Japan to the Conference on Disarmament.
- The Conference aims for the creation of the Arms Trade Treaty with the objective of regulating or improving the regulations of the international trade in conventional arms. Final negotiations among participating countries are scheduled to take place during the Conference.
