  1. H.E. Mr. K Shanmugam, Minister for Foreign Affairs & Minister for Law of the Republic of Singapore, will visit Japan from Monday, June 4 to Wednesday, June 6.

  2. During his stay in Japan, Minister Shanmugam is scheduled to hold a Japan-Singapore foreign ministerial meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Koichiro Gemba on Tuesday, June 5, as well as to pay a courtesy call on Katsuya Okada, Deputy Prime Minister of Japan, and to hold talks with members of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), the Japan-Singapore Parliamentarian Friendship League, etc. Prior to the foreign ministers’ meeting, a signing ceremony is scheduled to be held between the Singapore Red Cross Society Singapore, the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore, Tokyo, and Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture in the presence of both foreign ministers for a project by Singapore to support the reconstruction of disaster-affected areas (the construction of a community hall in Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture).

  3. It is expected that friendly and cooperative relations between Japan and Singapore will develop further as a result of this visit to Japan by Minister Shanmugam.
