"Thank-You Gathering" to be Hosted by Minister for Foreign Affairs Takeaki Matsumoto

On Wednesday, May 11 from 6:00 pm at Iikura Kokan, in order to express our appreciation for the outpouring of warm support and messages of encouragement and sympathy that the nation has received from the international community in various forms in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, Minister for Foreign Affairs Takeaki Matsumoto will host a Thank-You Gathering. The gathering will be open by invitation to members of the diplomatic corps and international institutions stationed in Tokyo and to those working on assistance activities including NGO personnel, etc.

At the Thank-You Gathering, as part of the efforts to promote business and tourism in the disaster-stricken area, there are plans to sell local agricultural produce and conduct promotions for tourism, Japanese saké, wine, etc., by inviting people related to local government, Japan Agricultural Cooperatives (JA) and small-scale distilleries from areas that have been hit by harmful rumors.
