- The Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will jointly host an urgent briefing on the Great East Japan Earthquake and its impact on Kansai on Wednesday, April 27 in Osaka for Consular Posts and international organizations in Kansai.
- The briefing will be attended by Chairman Shigetaka Sato from the OCCI and Ambassador in Charge of Kansai Region Ryuichi Tanabe, Chief of Protocol Yoshitaka Akimoto, and Director of Economic Policy Division Tomiko Ichikawa from MOFA. The briefing will cover efforts by MOFA toward reconstruction following the Great East Japan Earthquake, the current state of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the impact of the disaster on Osaka and Kansai, and other matters.
