- Minister for Foreign Affairs Koichiro Gemba will visit Honolulu from Thursday November 10 through Saturday November 12 in order to attend the 23rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) that will be held in Honolulu on Friday, November 11. Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi will also visit Honolulu, from Friday, November 11, through Saturday, November 12, in order to attend events including the Meeting of the Ministers Responsible for Trade which will be held on this occasion.
- Minister for Foreign Affairs Gemba and Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yamaguchi plan to exchange views with participating ministers from the other APEC Members regarding resilience strength against disasters, open governance and economic growth, support of the multilateral trading system, strengthening regional economic integration and promotion of green growth. They will also take this opportunity to exchange views with several participating ministers of APEC Members (the USA, Mexico, the Philippines, and Thailand, for example) regarding bilateral relations.
