Mr. Koichi Takemasa, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, to Participate in the 12th International Energy Forum (IEF) Ministerial Meeting

Mr. Koichi Takemasa, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, will participate in the 12th International Energy Forum (IEF) Ministerial Meeting to be held from March 30 (Tue) to 31 (Wed) in Cancun, Mexico.
This Meeting is hosted by Mexico and will be attended by representatives, including those of the ministerial level, from over sixty world’s major energy producing and consuming countries. Heads of organizations such as IEA and OPEC are also scheduled to attend. Mr. Masayuki Naoshima, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry is also scheduled to attend from Japan.
At the Meeting, discussions are scheduled to be held regarding stabilization of the global energy market and further strengthening energy dialogues. It is expected that Japan, as one of the world’s major energy consuming countries, will contribute even more proactively to promote the global energy dialogue among producing and consuming countries.
