- Mr. Tetsuro Fukuyama, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, will visit Australia from February 11 (Thu) to 13 (Sat). There, he will attend the Sixth Australia-Japan Conference being held in Canberra on February 12 (Fri).
- The Conference will be co-chaired by Mr. Akio Mimura, Representative Director and Chairman of the Nippon Steel Corporation (Chairman, Japan-Australia Business Co-operation Committee) from Japan, and Sir Rod Eddington, Non-Executive Chairman, JPMorgan Japan (Chairman, Australia-Japan Business Co-operation Committee) from Australia. The Conference will be attended by representatives from both countries in the fields of politics, the economy, and academia, and there will be frank exchanges of views on strengthening future Japan-Australia relations.
