- The 7th Japan-France Joint Committee on Cooperation in Science and Technology
will be held on March 3 (Tue) in Tokyo.
- This Meeting will be co-chaired on the Japanese side by Mr. Seiji Kojima,
Ambassador for Science and Technology Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
(MOFA), as Chairperson, and other officials from that Ministry, the Cabinet
Office, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
(MEXT), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and others,
and on the French side by Mr. Jérôme Pasquier, Deputy Director
General of International Co-operation and Development Department, French
Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, as Chairperson, and other officials
from that Ministry, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the French
Atomic Energy Commission, and others.
- In this Meeting, recommendations will be made by a Japan-France Joint Advisory Council, which is composed of eminent leaders in the area of science and technology, representing academic and industrial circles, concerning the general relations of the countries in science and technology. Information and views will be also exchanged concerning the countries’ policies in science and technology, and their research cooperation in areas such as researchers exchange, life science, information technology, energy, marine studies, and space.
