Japan-Iraq Business Forum

- The Government of Japan will host the Japan-Iraq Business Forum on July
2nd (Wed.) and July 3rd (Thu.) in Jordan (Amman) in cooperation with the
Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
- This forum is the first one to be held under the new administration
of Iraq on the Iraqi economy, joined by companies of both countries, in
order to strengthen the Japan-Iraq economic relations. Over 200 participants
from the public and private sectors of both countries are expected to attend.
From the Government of Japan, Mr. Osamu Uno, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs,
will participate among others, and from the Government of Iraq, Mr. Fawzi
Hariri, Minister of Industry and Minerals of Iraq, will participate with
other high-level government officials.
- In the forum, presentations on business and investment environment in
Iraq will be made, and business matching session between Japanese and Iraqi
companies will follow.
- The forum is expected to promote Iraqi reconstruction efforts by further enhancing Japan-Iraq economic ties and thus advance a long-term and strategic partnership between the two countries.
