The 11th Meeting of the Japan-Republic of Korea (ROK) Joint Committee on Environmental Cooperation

- On June 20 (Fri), the 11th Meeting of the Japan-ROK Joint Committee
on Environmental Cooperation will be held in Tokyo.
- The Committee is a framework to enable comprehensive discussions about
the two countries’ environmental policies and cooperation. The meeting
will be attended by, from the Japanese side, Mr. Kazuhide Ishikawa, Deputy
Director-General, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign
Affairs; from the ROK side, Mr. Kwon Hae-ryong, Deputy Director-General,
International Economic Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade,
as the chief delegate; and other relevant officials from both sides.
- At the meeting, there will be discussions on such global environmental issues as climate change, environmental cooperation in North East Asia, and other matters.
