The Second Japan-SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Symposium

- On June 10 (Tue) and 11 (Wed), the Second Japan-SAARC Symposium will
be held in Islamabad under the joint auspices of the Government of Japan
and the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad.
- The Symposium will be attended by experts in the region as well as the
field of energy resources from Japan and SAARC member states, participants
from organizations such as Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)
and others.
- Japan was given an observer status to attend the SAARC Summit Meetings in November 2005, and the first Japan-SAARC Symposium was held in July 2006. The Second Symposium will discuss “energy and connectivity.”
