Visit to Japan of His Excellency Mr. Ban Ki-moon Secretary-General of the United Nations and Mrs. Ban(Yoo) Soon-taek

  His Excellency Mr. Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations and Mrs. Ban(Yoo) Soon-taek, will pay an Official Visit to Japan from June 28 to July 1, 2008.

  During their stay in Japan, the Secretary-General and Mrs. Ban(Yoo) Soon-taek will be received in audience by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, Prime Minister of Japan, will hold a meeting with the Secretary-General.

　The Secretary-General and Mrs. Ban(Yoo) Soon-taek will visit Kyoto, and the Secretary-General will participate in a town meeting at the University of Kyoto.

  The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the first visit of the Secretary-General and Mrs. Ban(Yoo) Soon-taek since assuming office, which will further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the United Nations.
