Internet Live Broadcast of TICAD IV

  1. During the Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV) to be held in Yokohama City from May 28 to 30, there will be a live broadcast through the Internet of the opening and closing sessions, plenary sessions and breakout session A.
     
  2. The broadcasted images of these sessions will be the same as those aired inside the Pacifico Yokohama Conference Center, so that viewers from inside and outside Japan will be able to watch what is going on inside the Conference widely.
     
  3. During the TICAD IV, a special page will be set up on the TICAD IV website for Internet live broadcasting, enabling users to access directly from the index page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website.  The websites of Yokohama City, the TICAD promotion committee of Yokohama, the TICAD IV-related pages of the United Nations Information Center (UNIC Tokyo), United Nations Development Programme Tokyo Office and the World Bank Tokyo Office will have links to this special page.
     
  4. As this will be the first attempt at Internet live broadcasting by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry intends to make the most of live broadcast as an opportunity to widely publicize Japan’s efforts on African issues.
     
  5. The specifications of this Internet live broadcast are as follows:
  6. (1) Bit rate: 56/100 Kbps (provisional)

    (2) Maximum number of simultaneous viewers: 1,000 persons (their viewing will be guaranteed)

    (3) Band occupancy: 100 Mbps

    (4) Languages: Languages spoken by each representative (English, French, Japanese,  Portuguese (expected) (Interpretation will not be implemented for the Internet viewers))

    (5) Delivery of video clips: will not be implemented
