Japan-China Youth Friendship Exchange Year-Invitation to 200 Chinese Young People including Members of 1985 Youth Delegation

- From May 4 (Sun) to 10 (Sat), 150 young persons and 50 members of the 
    1985 delegation from the People’s Republic of China will visit Japan (headed 
    by Mr. Chen Zhang Xiaolan).  The group will lodge together with the 
    Japanese young people in Nagano prefecture, visit a car factory of Toyota 
    Motor Corporation in Aichi prefecture and attend seminars on the environment, 
    regional developments and local autonomy.  They will also attend a 
    lecture by Mr. Hu Jintao, President of China, the opening ceremony of Japan-China 
    Youth Friendship Exchange Year and a reception to follow.
 - This invitation was promised by Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda when he 
    visited China in December last year.
 - It is expected that through this program, mutual understanding will be deepened between the Japanese and Chinese young people, and a solid basis will be established between the two countries. This group comprises a group of 50 members from the 1985 delegation (by special invitation), 50 public servants, 50 young leaders and 50 young entrepreneurs.
