The first Japan-China Policy Dialogue on the Mekong Region

- The First Japan-China Policy Dialogue on the Mekong Region will be held
in Beijing on April 25 (Fri).
- The conference will be attended from the Japanese side by Mr. Kazuhide
Ishikawa, Deputy Director-General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs
Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other officials concerned;
and from the Chinese side by Mr. Xu Chen, Deputy Director-General of the
Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, and other officials concerned.
- At the conference, the participants will discuss such various issues as development and trade and investment promotion in the Mekong region (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam) to share mutual recognition on the current situation of and measures related to the Mekong region.
