Japan-China Youth Friendship Exchange Year: Visit to Japan of the First Mission Group of Chinese High School Students

- From April 15 (Tue) to 23 (Wed), the first mission group of Chinese
high school students (about 200) for this fiscal year will visit Japan.
After participating in exchange events at schools in the metropolitan
area, the group will deepen exchange with Japanese high school students
and ordinary citizens through attending classes and participating in extra-curricular
activities, homestay, and exchange programs in Hokkaido, Miyagi, Ibaraki,
Kanagawa, Gifu, Osaka, Hyogo and Okinawa prefectures and will visit environmental,
social and cultural facilities.
- On April 22 (Tue), they will attend a Japan-China Youth Friendship Exchange
Year symposium, “The Pleasure of Cross-Cultural Understanding,” at Waseda
University’s Ibuka Memorial Hall, as a commemorative event of the “Japan-China
Youth Friendship Exchange Year.”
- Starting from this year, about four thousand students from Japan and China will participate in the youth exchange program in the next four years. It is expected that through this program, mutual understanding will be deepened between the Japanese and Chinese young people and a solid base established between the two countries. The visiting group comprises of students selected from Anhui, Guizhou, Jilin and Jiangsu provinces and Beijing.
