The Fourth Annual Meeting of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA)

- The fourth annual meeting of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa
(ICA) will be held on March 13 (Thu) and 14 (Fri) in Tokyo (Mita House).
- At the meeting, Mr. Yasuhide Nakayama, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs,
will give a remark at the opening session, and Mr. Nobutake Odano, Ambassador
in charge of TICAD IV, and Dr. Mandla Gantsho, Vice President of the African
Development Bank, will co-chair the meeting. Participating from the
donor side will be the G8 countries, the African Development Bank, the World
Bank, EU and others; from the African side, the African Union (AU), the
New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD), and regional economic communities
including the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
- With the TICAD IV coming up in May this year, there will be an exchange of opinions at the meeting on assistance for region-wide infrastructure development focusing on road and electricity networks.
