Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to attend the TICAD IV Ministerial Preparatory Conference in Gabon

TICAD IV

  1. Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Libreville, Gabon, to chair the Ministerial Preparatory Conference for the Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV) to be held there from March 19 (Wed) to 23 (Sun).
  2. By attending the Ministerial Preparatory Conference, which will be the culmination of the preparatory process of the TICAD IV to be held in May this year in Yokohama, as Foreign Minister of Japan, Mr. Koumura will hear opinions from African countries and compile the direction of discussions at the TICAD IV.
  3. This will be the first visit to Gabon by a Japanese foreign minister, and Mr. Koumura will meet key officials of the Government of Gabon to exchange views on bilateral cooperation and the regional and international situation during his stay in Libreville.
