Attendance of Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Former Minister for Foreign Affairs, as Special Envoy of the Prime Minister, at the UN Dialogue High-Level Special Meeting

- On November 12 (Wed) and 13 (Thu), Mr. Masahiko Koumura, former Minister
for Foreign Affairs, will attend a Special Meeting of the United Nations
General Assembly at U.N. Headquarters in New York as a Special Envoy of
Prime Minister Taro Aso.
- This Special Meeting will be held as part of the UN General Assembly as a response to the initiative by The Custodian of The Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote a constructive dialogue on the universal values shared by all humankind, such as moderation and tolerance, to promote understanding between religions and civilizations, and to confront extremism and fanaticism. In consideration of the extreme importance of this initiative, the Government of Japan has decided to dispatch a Special Envoy of the Prime Minister.
