Foreign Minister Nakasone to Attend the Fifth Ministerial Meeting of the “Forum for the Future” under the “Broader Middle East and North Africa: BMENA” Initiative

Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will attend the fifth ministerial meeting of the “Forum for the Future” under the “Broader Middle East and North Africa : BMENA” Initiative to be held on October 18 and 19 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
At the meeting, Japan, as the chair of the G8, will serve as a co-chair together with the United Arab Emirates. There will be an exchange of views on assistance for reform efforts in the BMENA region and the situation in the Middle East.
On the second day of the meeting, Ms. Seiko Hashimoto, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, will attend the meeting to serve as a co-chair of the ministerial meeting.
