Visit to Japan by Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn, UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

- Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the
Situation of Human Rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
(DPRK) (Professor of Chulalongkorn University, Thailand), will visit Japan
from January 14 (Mon) to 19 (Sat) to investigate the human rights situation
in North Korea.
- During his visit, Professor Muntarbhorn will exchange opinions on the human rights situation in the DPRK, including the abduction issue, with government officials such as Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Kyoko Nakayama, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan on the Abduction Issue, families of abductees and others.
