Second Round of Negotiations to Conclude a Japan-Kazakhstan Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy

- The second round of negotiations to conclude a Japan-Kazakhstan Agreement
for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy will be held on September
19 (Wed) in Vienna.
- The second round will be attended from the Japanese side by: Mr. Takeshi
Nakane, Director-General of the Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science
Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Head of the Japanese Delegation)
and officials concerned from relevant ministries; and from the Kazakhstani
side by: Mr. Timur Zhantikin, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Atomic Energy Committee
(Head of the Kazakhstani Delegation) and officials concerned.
- In this round, discussions will be held on the contents of the Agreement, which is aimed at promoting cooperation between Japan and Kazakhstan in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
