Visit to Japan by Mr. Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of the PRC

- Mr. Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s
Political Consultative Conference of the People’s Republic of China, will
visit Japan at the invitation of the Government of Japan from September
12 (Wed) to 18 (Tue).
- This is a visit to Japan by a high-level official (ranking 4th in the Chinese Communist Party) which follows the visit by Mr. Wen Jiabao, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, in April this year. This is the second official visit of a Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference following that of Mr. Li Ruihuan, Former Chairman of the Committee, in December 1999 after an interval of about eight years.
