Mr. Nobutaka Machimura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting

  1. Mr. Nobutaka Machimura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Sydney, Australia, from September 4 (Tue) to attend the 19th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting, which will be held on September 5 (Wed) and 6 (Thu) in Sydney.
     
  2. At the APEC Ministerial Meeting, Mr. Machimura will exchange views with participating ministers on such issues as “WTO (World Trade Organization),” “Regional Economic Integration,” and “Structural Reforms.”
     
  3. Mr. Machimura will also exchange views with some of the participating ministers on bilateral relations and other issues.
     
  4. Taking part in the APEC Ministerial Meeting will be foreign ministers and others from the 21 APEC economies (Australia; Brunei; Canada; Chile; the People’s Republic of China; Hong Kong, China; Indonesia; Japan; the Republic of Korea; Malaysia; Mexico; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Peru; the Philippines; the Russian Federation; Singapore; Chinese Taipei; Thailand; the United States of America; and Viet Nam).
