Dr. Robert B. Zoellick, President of the World Bank, to Visit Japan

- From August 8 (Wed) to 9 (Thu), Dr. Robert B. Zoellick, President of
the World Bank, will visit Japan. During the stay, he will pay a courtesy
call on Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
- Dr. Zoellick was inaugurated as 11th President of the World Bank on
July 1, 2007. This is his first visit to Japan since assuming office.
He has held various responsible posts such as United States Trade
Representative (2001-2005) and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State (2005-2006)
in the Bush administration
. - Topics for his meetings with Japanese counterparts are likely to include the Hokkaido Toyako Summit and the TICAD IV held in 2008 as well as future cooperation between Japan and the World Bank.
