Visit to Japan by Dr. Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

Dr. Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, will visit Japan from July 25 (Wed) to 27 (Fri).
During his stay, Dr. Kazatchkine will have talks with high-level officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and exchange views with persons concerned from economic circles, international organizations and NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations), while requesting further understanding about and support for the Global Fund from the Japanese people. Dr. Kazatchkine will also deliver a speech at a global seminar “From Heiligendamm to Toyako –The Global Fund on the G8 Agenda” which will be hosted by the Friends of the Global Fund, Japan (FGFJ), on 26th (Thu).
This will be his first visit to Japan as Executive Director, since his appointment to the position in April this year.
