Visit to Japan by Dr. Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

- Dr. Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of the Global
Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, will visit Japan from July 25
(Wed) to 27 (Fri).
- During his stay, Dr. Kazatchkine will have talks with
high-level officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of
Health, Labour and Welfare, and exchange views with persons concerned from economic
circles, international organizations and NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations),
while requesting further understanding about and support for the Global Fund
from the Japanese people. Dr. Kazatchkine will also deliver a speech at
a global seminar “From Heiligendamm to Toyako –The Global Fund on the G8 Agenda”
which will be hosted by the Friends of the Global Fund, Japan (FGFJ), on 26th
(Thu).
- This will be his first visit to Japan as Executive Director, since his appointment to the position in April this year.
