The 4th Japan-Iran Human Rights Dialogue

The 4th Japan-Iran Human Rights Dialogue will be held on July 6 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The dialogue will be led respectively by Mr. Masato Kitera, Ambassador in charge of UN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mrs. Dr. Tahereh Nazari, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director General for International Women Affairs and Human Rights, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The upcoming dialogue is the first dialogue on human rights in three years between Japan and Iran since the previous dialogue was conducted in June 2004 in Tehran.
During the dialogue, both countries are expected to express basic policy and approach on human rights issues, and have an exchange of views, among others, on possibility of bilateral cooperation towards further promotion of human rights as well as cooperation in the field of human rights including such cooperation at the Human Rights Council and the UN General Assembly.
