EU-Japan High-Level Consultations

  1. The Japan-EU High-Level Consultations will be held on May 7 (Mon) in Brussels.

  2. The Consultations will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Masaharu Kohno, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, who leads the Japanese delegation consisting of officials from the ministries and agencies concerned, and on the EU side by Mr. Eneko Landaburu, Director General, External Relations Directorate General, the European Commission, and representatives of the related departments of the European Commission.

  3. At the Consultations, the participants will take up such topics as the economic relations between Japan and the EU and global issues, and will exchange views on the progress of cooperation and dialogue in wide-ranging areas.

  4. The Japan-EU High-level Consultations have been held since 1973, in which extensive policy dialogue on matters of mutual interest has been conducted from a broad standpoint.
