Negotiations to Conclude Japan-Russia Nuclear Energy Agreement

- The first round of negotiations to conclude a Japan-Russia Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy will be held on April 26 (Thu) in Tokyo.
- This round will be attended from the Japanese side by: Mr. Takeshi Nakane, Director-General of the Disarmament, Non-proliferation and Scientific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Head of the Japanese Delegation) and officials concerned from relevant ministries; and from the Russian side by: Mr. Vladimir Kuchinov, Head of the Department of International and External Economic Cooperation, Federal Agency for Atomic Energy (Head of the Russian Delegation) and officials concerned.
- In this round, discussions will be held on how to conduct talks in the future and on the content of the Agreement to conclude the Japan-Russia Nuclear Energy Agreement, which is aimed at promoting cooperation between Japan and Russia on the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
