Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit India to Attend the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit Meeting

1. Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit India from April 2 (Mon) to 4 (Wed) to attend the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit Meeting.

2. At the Summit Meeting, Mr. Aso will deliver a statement at the opening session on Japan’s policy of enhancing relationship with South Asia and SAARC and will also hold bilateral talks with leaders of the SAARC member countries and others.

3. This will be the first time for the Government of Japan to participate in the SAARC Summit Meeting.
