The First Japan-Vietnam Joint Committee on Cooperation in Science and Technology

- On March 7 (Wed), Japan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will hold the first meeting of the Japan-Vietnam Joint Committee on Cooperation in Science and Technology (S&T) in Tokyo (Mita House). The meeting will be chaired by Mr. Chihiro Atsumi, Director-General for the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department of the Foreign Ministry, on the Japanese side; and Mr. Thach Can, Director-General for the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Science and Technology, on the Vietnamese side.
- The participants of this meeting on the Vietnamese side will be representatives from the S&T fields headed by H.E. Dr. Hoang Van Phong, Minister of Science and Technology; and on the Japanese side, government officials concerned.
- The meeting will discuss progress in S&T policy in Japan and Vietnam and current S&T cooperation between the two countries.
- It is hoped that this meeting will further strengthen S&T cooperation and friendly relations between Japan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
