2008 Junior Eight (J8) Summit

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a Junior Eight (J8) Summit in Chitose City, which includes the region of Lake Shikotsu, from July 1, 2008 (Tue) to 10 (Thu) under the joint auspices of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
As the UNICEF favored the quiet atmosphere of Lake Shikotsu for the venue of the 2008 J8 Summit, which is a gathering of young people from all over the world, the co-organizers have reached on a consensus to hold the Summit in Chitose City which includes the region of Lake Shikotsu.
