The Fourth Japan-WFP Policy Consultation
January 19, 2007
- The Fourth Japan-WFP (United Nations World Food Programme) Annual Policy Consultation will be held on January 29 (Mon) in Tokyo (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
- The Consultation will be attended by Mr. Koji Tsuruoka, Director General (Ambassador) for Global Issues, International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others on the Japanese side, and by Mr. John M. This Policy Consultation began in 2004 to strengthen cooperation between Japan and the WFP. At the upcoming Fourth Consultation, the participants will exchange views on wide-ranging issues; focuses of Japan's ODA, based on the human security concept and peace building; the future framework for coalition and cooperation between Japan and the WFP; WFP's food aid policy and activities; aid coordination of Japan's multilateral ODA through WFP and bilateral ODA; and the possibility of cooperation between Japan and the WFP in public relations.
