Dr. Tatsuo Arima, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for the Middle East Peace Process, to Attend the Ministerial-level Meeting of the United Nations Security Council

- Dr. Tatsuo Arima, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for the Middle East Peace Process, is scheduled to visit the United States from September 21 (Thu) to 23 (Sat) to attend the Ministerial-level Meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the Middle East to be held in New York on September 21, as representative of Japan.
- Dr. Arima will deliver a statement at the meeting on Japan's basic stance on the Middle East, calling on the parties concerned to make progress on the peace process through dialogue, with a view to achieve co-existence and co-prosperity of Israel and Palestine.
- During his stay in New York, Dr. Arima will also meet officials from the governments of major countries concerned with the Middle East peace process to discuss how the international community should move forward on this matter.
