Third Meeting of the Joint Governmental Study for Strengthening Economic Relations between Japan and Switzerland

  1. The third meeting of the Joint Governmental Study for strengthening economic relations between Japan and Switzerland will be held on May 29 (Mon) and 30 (Tue) in Tokyo (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
  2. The meeting will be attended by representatives of the ministries concerned from Japan and Switzerland.
  3. At the meeting, there will be presentations and discussions on trade in goods and services, investment, intellectual property rights, etc.
  4. The launch of the Joint Governmental Study was agreed upon at the Summit Meeting between Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister of Japan, and Mr. Samuel Schmid, President of the Swiss Confederation, in April 2005. The first meeting was held on October 31 (Mon) and November 1 (Tue) in Tokyo and the second on February 27 (Mon) and 28 (Tue) in Bern.
