The 22nd Japan-Russia Joint Fishery Committee Meeting

- The 22nd Japan-Russia Joint Fishery Committee Meeting (so-called the Japan-Russia Consultations on anadromous stocks), based on the Agreement on Cooperation in Fishery between Japan and the Soviet Union, will be held from March 13 (Mon) to 23 (Thu) in Tokyo.
- The Meeting will be attended on the Japanese side by: Mr. Yoshimi SUENAGA, Councillor, Resources Management Department, Fisheries Agency, who will head the group as representative of the Government of Japan, and officials in charge from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fisheries Agency, Hokkaido Government and organizations concerned; and on the Russian side by Mr. Anas Kashfeevich NURUTDINOV, Deputy Director-General of the Fisheries Department, Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, and the officials concerned of the Federal Fisheries authorities, the Federal Border Service of Federal Security Service and others.
- At the upcoming Meeting, consultations will be held mainly on the catches of Russian anadromous stocks in 2006 by Japanese ships within the Japanese 200-nautical- mile zone.
