The 10th Japan-China Joint Working Group Meeting concerning Abandoned Chemical Weapons in China

  1. The 10th Japan-China Joint Working Group Meeting concerning Abandoned Chemical Weapons in China will be held in the morning and afternoon of December 21 (Thu) in Tokyo.
  2. The Meeting will be attended on the Japanese side by a delegation headed by Mr. Takeo Akiba, Director, China and Mongolia Division, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned of that ministry and the Abandoned Chemical Weapons Office of the Minister's Secretariat, Cabinet Office, and on the Chinese side by a delegation headed by Mr. Pan Hao, Deputy Director of the Office for Japanese Chemical Weapons discarded in China, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned of that ministry, the Ministry of National Defense, the State Administration of Environmental Protection, and other offices.
  3. At the Meeting, there will be an exchange of views about such matters as small-scale excavation and collection projects, disposal projects in Haerbaling District, Dunhua City, Jilin Province, and other projects to be carried out in China in and after this fiscal year.
