Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Attend the 18th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting

- If it is approved at the Cabinet meeting, Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Hanoi, Viet Nam, from November 14 (Tue), to attend the 18th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting, which will be held from November 15 (Wed) to November 16 (Thu) in Hanoi.
- At the APEC Ministerial Meeting, Mr. Aso will exchange views with participating ministers on such issues as "WTO (World Trade Organization)", "FTAs (Free Trade Agreements)", "Action Plan to Implement the Busan Roadmap", and "Counter-Terrorism".
- Mr. Aso will also exchange views with participating ministers on bilateral relations and other issues.
- Taking part in the APEC Ministerial Meeting will be foreign ministers and others from 21 APEC economies (Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; the People's Republic of China; Hong Kong, China; Indonesia; Japan; the Republic of Korea; Malaysia; Mexico; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Peru; the Philippines; the Russian Federation; Singapore; Chinese Taipei; Thailand; the United States of America; and Viet Nam).
