Seminar on Strengthening Nuclear Security in Asian Countries

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, jointly with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will hold a "Seminar on Strengthening Nuclear Security in Asian Countries" on November 8 (Wed) and 9 (Thu) in Tokyo (West Shinjuku, Keio Plaza Hotel).
- Government officials from 13 Asian countries (the ten ASEAN members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam; plus Japan, the ROK and China) are invited to this seminar. Representatives of Australia, Brazil, Canada, Kazakhstan, Spain, the U.S. and Uzbekistan will also attend it as speakers. Mr. Masakazu Sekiguchi, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will deliver an opening speech.
- At the seminar, there will be presentations and an exchange of views on such matters as nuclear security in Southeast Asia, supporting and strengthening measures of nuclear security at international and regional levels, and nuclear security in Japan and other countries.
