Governmental Consultations between Japan and North Korea

- Japan and North Korea will hold governmental working-level consultations on December 24 and 25 in Beijing.
- The consultations will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Akitaka Saiki, Deputy Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Foreign Ministry, and on the North Korea side, Mr. Song Il Ho, Deputy Director-General in Charge of Japan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the North Korea.
- At these consultations, which will be a follow-up to the consultations held on November 3 and 4, there will be continued discussions on ways to solve such outstanding issues of concern between Japan and North Korea as the abduction and the nuclear and missile issues, as well as wider-ranging issues such as the settlement of the past. There will be concrete talks on how to proceed with future consultations as well.
