Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Attend the 17th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting

- Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Busan, Republic of Korea from November 14 (Mon) to 16 (Wed), to attend the 17th APEC Ministerial Meeting.
- At the APEC Ministerial Meeting, Mr. Aso will exchange views with participating ministers of each member economy on such issues as "WTO (World Trade Organization)", "Mid-term Stocktake of the Progress Towards the Bogor Goals", "FTA (Free Trade Agreements)", "Counter-Terrorism and Non-Proliferation Issues", "Infectious Diseases and Emergency Preparedness" and "Energy Security".
- Mr. Aso will also exchange views with participating ministers on bilateral relations and other issues.
- Taking part in the APEC Ministerial Meeting will be foreign ministers and others from 21 APEC economies (Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; China; Hong Kong, China; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; Mexico; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Peru; the Philippines; the Russian Federation; Singapore; Chinese Taipei; Thailand; United States; and Viet Nam).
